Ernie DiGregorio

Director of Operations

Ernie DiGregorio was selected third overall by the Buffalo Braves in the 1973 NBA Draft out of Providence College, and won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1973-74 after averaging 15.2 points and leading the league in both free throw percentage and assists per game.

DiGregorio still holds the NBA rookie record for assists in a single game with 25 (a record now shared with Nate McMillan. “Our city was very blessed to have the Braves in the ‘70’s, and it’s a shame they left. We didn’t have a quality, stable, basketball franchise since then. Going into our third season I’ve listened to our fans. I keep hearing how they want the best players and want a championship. I’m working hard on player acquisition now, and Ernie will help steer the organization to keep growing and keep bringing in new fans. Not only are we working with an NBA Legend, we are working directly with the NBA on a few big things we have planned this season," said General Manager Tawan Slaughter.
